The Moon

This is my Day 4 photo in the 365Project, i used Nikon D90, Sigma 50-500mm with x2 teleconverter, when you use teleconverter you will lose 2f stop so you may need more lights. More Moons on my flickr.

Hi Ali, I love this picture it is amazing what quality you can get with your camera and that lens.

I agree that when you use a teleconverter to increase the focal length of the lens the less light enters the camera so you need to let more light in.

    This means either:
Opening up the apeture by two stops
Longer shutter speed exposure by two stops
Or increasing the sensor sensitivity by doubling the ISO (film speed) setting
Or a combination of all three

    Good picture though.

I’ve always enjoyed shooting the moon too, although sadly I’ve never had a lens as long as a 500mm to do so with. Your results are wonderful Ali. I do have a small telescope and “one of these days” I’ll get around to purchasing an adapter to connect my camera to it.
