Long corridors were famous in old houses in Qatar, and other rooms’ doors can be reached from this corridor. Usually, the kitchen is located far from other rooms or near to the gate.

An old radio 📻 in the Radwani House Museum, only one can be found in the houses at that time, all the family often gather to hear the station/channel that may not be clear, but at least hearing something, either news or songs.

This image is from Radwani House Museum, and what is in the photo was used to keep the water cool, it is famous and used in all houses in Qatar before the electricity.

A typical bedroom from the 1930s for middle-class families. This room is for the head of the family (the big father), while the rest of the male members mostly sleep in the courtyard of the house or on the roof, the girls will usually are sleep together in one or two rooms.

Radwani House is located between Al-Jasrah and Msheireb, two of Doha’s oldest quarters. built-in 1920 presents traditional Qatari family life and gathers.

This tool used to be perfume container, usually the perfume was only “rose water”, until now rose-water is poured or sprinkled on celebrants in traditional weddings.
